The Extreme Networks 40GBASE-BDSR is designed to provide 40G Ethernet connectivity over duplex multimode fiber (MMF) using BiDi (bidirectional) technology, allowing full-duplex communication on a single fiber pair. This innovation reduces the fiber cabling needed, saving infrastructure costs and complexity while maintaining high bandwidth performance. Compliant with IEEE 802.3ba standards, this module supports distances up to 100 meters on OM3 fiber and 150 meters on OM4 fiber. Equipped with LC duplex connectors, it integrates seamlessly into existing MMF infrastructure.
The 40GBASE-BDSR transceiver is hot-pluggable and supports Digital Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM), providing real-time monitoring of module performance for easy troubleshooting.
